Texas Parks & Wildlife
Lake Jackson, Texas
Sea Center Texas needed a new refrigeration system to replace the aging system that had been corroded from years of being exposed to saltwater in the fish tanks. The old system supplied water tempering to the fish tanks to match the temperature in the Gulf of Mexico.
Accurate Comfort Systems USA changed out the chilled water system and provided the center with a brand new direct expansion system, which uses coils that are chemically coated to slow down the corrosion process. It was critical the systems were switched over within a 48-hour window or the fish would suffer stress and could possibly die, causing the center to lose thousands of dollars.
This project was a turnkey opportunity where Accurate was directly responsible not only for the new system, but also for the installation of a new roof as well as concrete and block walls. Through detailed planning and coordination, Accurate achieved each deadline while meeting the client’s needs.
The system will reduce future maintenance costs for Sea Center Texas. It is more efficient than the old chilled water system and built to withstand the harsh elements giving the system a longer lifetime, allowing the tanks to remain a consistent temperature. The Texas Parks & Wildlife was highly impressed with the quality workmanship and efficiency of Accurate Comfort Systems USA.
